Dealing with Indigestion Using Acupuncture Therapy

Indigestion is a common health concern experienced by many people. Most of the time, it is mild and only occurs from time to time. However, if indigestion has been affecting your quality of life and you want to use natural approaches to address it, Traditional Oriental Medicine in Orange County is greatly beneficial for you.

Eastern medicine has been used in the effective treatment of digestive disorders, including indigestion, through herbs and acupuncture. At HealingGate Acupuncture & Wellness Center, we primarily use acupuncture to relieve the pain and discomfort caused by this digestive disorder.

So, how does this work?

Once you visit our acupuncture clinic in Fullerton, Orange County, for an assessment, Dr. Jung will then proceed to identify the key areas that are affecting your indigestion. Often, acupuncture points, or meridians, that will help improve digestion are:

  • The large intestine (LI-4) is commonly found in the webbing between the thumb and the index finger that improves overall intestinal issues.
  • REN-12 is found at the center of the abdomen. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that this is where the energy of the stomach gathers. This helps relieve indigestion, fullness from overeating, gas, bloating, and reflux.
  • Stomach-36 (ST-36) is located on the outer edge of the leg, three fingers width below the knee. It is also a great point for boosting energy and immunity, as well as relieving gas, nausea, and any kind of digestive issue.
  • Spleen 6 (SP-6) is located three fingers width above the inner ankle bone. Aside from improving digestion, it is also known to relieve period pain.

If you are looking forward to pain management for your indigestion, we are the clinic to visit. Set an appointment with us today!
